WRQ Reflection for the Web |
Reflection for the Web is terminal emulation software that connects browser users to applications on IBM, HP, UNIX, and OpenVMS hosts. But Reflection does more than make your host connections. It also provides an advanced set of administrative, security, and customization capabilities—all designed to cut the complexity of desktop management.
What's New in 8.0?
- Single sign-on provides secure access to all approved hosts and servers with one convenient password.
- IBM WebSphere Portal support lets you assign emulation sessions to portal users and launch Reflection portlets.
- WebSphere browse-away support allows users to move between portlets or portal pages without losing the state of the emulation session.
- Stand-alone FTP client can be launched outside of an emulation session.
- FTP command-line interface lets users type in standard FTP commands for file transfers rather than using a graphical interface.
- Macro enhancements improve productivity for users and administrators.

Security
- Secure FTP
- Supports IBM mainframe, IBM AS/400, OpenVMS, HP, UNIX, Linux, and Windows FTP servers
- Uses secure token authorization
- Uses one firewall port for Secure FTP and emulation sessions to multiple hosts
- Requires no modifications to the host or FTP server
- Hides the FTP server name and port from external users
- Uses the Reflection Security Proxy Server to protect the host from external exposure
- Authentication:
- Microsoft® Active Directory single sign-on
- LDAP: Microsoft Active Directory, Novell Directory Services (NDS), SunONE (iPlanet/Netscape), IBM Secureway, OpenLDAP, and generic LDAP-compliant option (RFC 2256)
- Kerberos v5 with Microsoft Active Directory
- Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS)
- X509 certificates/Smart Cards
- Integration with Plumtree Portal, BEA WebLogic Portal, and Netegrity SiteMinder
- Encryption:
- AES encryption
- 3DES encryption
- SSL/TLS via the Reflection Security Proxy Server
- SSL/TLS direct to an SSL/TLS-enabled host system or gateway
- Secure Shell (SSH2)
- Authorization:
- Access mapping to terminal sessions for authorized users
- Personalization with LU/device-name parameters (identity-based using directory services with LDAP/Active Directory, or by location using DNS name or IP address)
- Secure token authorization for Reflection web- and Windows-based products using Telnet, NS/VT, and Secure FTP connections to multiple hosts through a single port in the firewall; no need to distribute client SSL certificates
